Sketching Techniques with award-winning artist Damien Shen

Master new rendering techniques and learn how to create a dynamic sense of light and dark in this in-depth drawing workshop with Adelaide based artist Damien Shen. Shen’s extraordinary command of tone and line has been recognised nationally, including finalist in the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award, and as winner of the 2015 Prospect Portraiture Prize and the 2016 Blake Prize (emerging artist category).

Focusing on form and depth within drawing, Shen will share techniques he has honed throughout his practice to construct an illustration from beginning to end. You will learn about constructing reference points for your work and build skills in charcoal and pastel.

All levels of ability are welcome. Materials and light refreshments will be provided.
