UNBOUND

Rory Carter

23 Nov 2019 - 27 Jan 2020
Cathleen Edkins Gallery

Unbound is an exhibition about a drive to understand the world through a process of making and experimenting; sending out art-as-test-beacons with each idea, each work, each thought. They are studies of what might-almost-be-there or extending a moment that changes the tempo of the world around us, to blur the lines between fact and fiction; arriving at an answer, a resolution, a finished work.

Featuring sketches inspired by daily events, over-sized abstract paintings, sculptures made from wax and copper etchings. In this significant solo show Rory Carter presents us with an expansive journey, both in subject and discipline.

We acknowledge the Boandik Peoples as the traditional custodians of the land we meet on today. We respect their spiritual relationship with the land and recognise the deep feelings of attachment our First Nations Peoples have with the land.
