August in South Australia means SALA and SALA means celebrating South Australian Living Artists. Here at The Riddoch we have a whole host of things happening to highlight the artists of our region and the wonderful work they do.

The dynamic duo of April Hague and Jane van Eeten will be presenting a themed life drawing session, which you will be able to participate in AND practice social distancing or if you prefer to draw in the comfort of your home, you can tune in online too!

Or if you don’t fancy pencil and paper, why not try a needle and thread? Local artist Jo Fife will be running a stitching session for the Telling Tales Project, where you have the chance to embroider your own story from the Limestone Coast region. It’s a free session and open to anyone who’s looking for pointers on how to get started or those who just like the company. Check out our Telling Tales page for more info about the project. It’s free to participate and you are provided with a kit that has everything you need.

If all of that isn’t enough, another local artist Pariya Ziakas will be up to her elbows in paint every weekend of August (weather permitting), painting the Stobie Poles in her neighborhood. Using this community action as a way of spreading positivity in challenging times, come and see her in action for yourself or follow along on our social media. And if you get inspired, why not ask Pariya how to do it in your hood?
