‘Come & Play’ Dry Point Printmaking Workshop with Sally Caston

Event Date: Sat 11 Nov

Event Time: 6:00PM - 9:00PM

Event Location: Art Studio

Event Type:

_______

Inspired by the exhibition of works by Barbara Hanrahan Bee-stung lips.

Join Adelaide based artist Sally Caston as you explore Hanrahan’s techniques, understand her processes and then create artwork inspired by the exhibition.

What is drypoint?
An image is scratched or incised onto a plastic matrix, producing gouges and lines of various depths, and a burr that is pushed up as the plastic surface is displaced. The scratched plate is inked up by forcing the ink deep into the grooves and allowing it to catch on the burrs. This ink is printed onto damp paper and has a typical velvety line that is created.

Combining the love of creative play in a no-pressure, relaxed, three-hour printmaking session. No experience necessary, all you need is the desire to learn how to create.

What to bring:
*Notebook and pen for jotting down information
*Some references i.e. photos, drawings, ideas; black and white illustrations are a good go-to

All other materials supplied.
Suitable for ages 18+.

COST: $100/$90 conc.
