Volcano is the story of Earth, Fire and Water. Starting with the Aboriginal Dreamtime story of Craitbul and his giant ovens, this award-winning big screen cinematic experience wows the senses as it weaves its way through an incredible story. This exciting adventure takes you through the spectacular history of eruptions that shaped Mount Gambier and the Kanawinka region.

Kumarangk Film Screenings
The Walk to Save Kumarangk (1997) and Kumarangk 5214 (2001)
Experience two powerful short documentaries exploring the cultural significance of Kumarangk (Hindmarsh Island) and the community movement to protect it.
The Walk to Save Kumarangk (1997) captures the passion, determination and activism behind the campaign to safeguard this important Ngarrindjeri place. Kumarangk 5214 (2001) shares the voices and stories of Ngarrindjeri women, revealing their deep cultural and ancestral connections to Country.
Together, these films provide valuable historical and cultural perspectives that complement the Kumarangk exhibition.
Screening Times
Tuesdays: 2:00pm (replacing Craitbul and Volcano )
Saturdays: 12:30pm (replacing Craitbul and Volcano )
Screenings will take place in the Riddoch Dress Circle throughout the exhibition period, until 8 November 2026.
