South East Art Society Inc. (SEAS) encourages the practice of Visual Arts and their promotion throughout the Limestone Coast and surrounding regions.

Now in its 57th year, the SEAS Open Art Awards in 2022 feature more than 100 works by painters, sculptors, photographers and students from the region.

The Awards offer a top prize of $1,500, making this exhibition a hotly anticipated event on the Mount Gambier art calendar, with a People’s Choice award you can vote on for the duration of the exhibition.

Winners for 2022 were announced at the opening on Friday 1 April:

Works on Paper: 1st Sue Foureur, 2nd Heather Lucas

Mixed Media: 1st Paul Sundstrom, 2nd Liz Francis

Photography: 1st Michael van der Linden, 2nd Willie Davidson

Digital Arts/Video: 1st Luke Pellen, 2nd Daniel Pearson

Textiles: 1st Kerrie Head, 2nd Diana Moskwa

3D Art: 1st Chrissy Pudney, 2nd Luke Nesbitt

Patron’s Award: Tim Holiday

Member’s Award: Sally O’Connor

1st time exhibitor award: Diana Ashworth

Secondary student award: 1st Jemma Gittins, 2nd Lily Cain

Primary student award: 1st Opal McIlduff, 2nd Che Hussey

Inclusive Award: 1st Kim Thorpe, 2nd Che Hussey
