MARTU KARU / GOOD DAY
My name is Aunty Michelle and I am a proud Boandik Elder.

Join me as I retell a Dreaming story of the Boandik people about ”How the emu got short wings” from my second book ‘Annie connects with Boandik culture’.

I then invite children to make a head dress from cardboard, to colour with paints or textas and decorate with Emu feathers.

We acknowledge the Boandik Peoples as the traditional custodians of the land we meet on today. We respect their spiritual relationship with the land and recognise the deep feelings of attachment our First Nations Peoples have with the land.
