Event Time: 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Due to the first workshop selling out, Fruzsi is happy to offer a SECOND workshop on Saturday 6 April!!!
In this deluxe ceramic workshop, you can look forward to three hours of tuition with Adelaide-based ceramicist and illustrator Fruzsi Kenez. We will explore various methods of hand-building functional vessels and tableware. After a few warm-up exercises which will include making a spoon and a small ring-dish, we will learn the technique of coiling and move forward to making larger pieces and personal projects.
Through the extended length of this workshop there will be an opportunity for making a number of large pieces. This can include a set of mugs or bowls, platters and dishes. It depends on the skills and goals of the student. Fruzsi is always close-by to assist one-on-one.
The workshop fee covers three hours of tuition, all professional quality materials including unlimited clay, underglaze paints and tools in addition to bisque and glaze firing that Fruzsi will do on the student’s behalf. There will also be a small afternoon tea.
Finished works will be returned to Riddoch Art Gallery on May 4.
No experience necessary.
Cost: $99 per person
Limited spaces available. To book your place please contact Riddoch Art Gallery on 08 8721 2563. Payment is required prior to the commencement of the workshop, with a $50 deposit required upon booking.
Meet Fruzsi Kenez!
Fruzsi (pronounced froo-shee) is an Adelaide-based painter, ceramicist and curator. A practicing artist for over 10 years, Fruzsi began teaching ceramic and illustration workshops in 2015, and last year began visiting interstate and regional art galleries to offer these unique events to local audiences.
“For me, it is an incredible honour and privilege to travel to regional communities to teach the craft of hand-built ceramics, and watercolour illustration with the focus on releasing the fear of putting brush to paper. The experience and knowledge gained through these workshops has long-lasting positive effects that can enliven and empower the lives of students and those around them.”
Fruzsi is best known for her quirky portraits and creates many private portrait commissions for customers worldwide. She is also a self-professed cat whisperer and avid nature walker.
